Air Industries occupies three contiguous buildings totaling 76,000 square feet. These buildings include a 20,000 square foot management and warehouse facility which is where our headquarters is located and where our workflow begins. The second building is a 30,000 square foot production machine shop with over 18 principal N/C machining centers and various support operations such as cutter grinding, deburring and jig boring. This building also contains our programming and first piece inspection areas.
Air Industries recently acquired a third building, 26,000 square feet, contiguous to the original campus, and it is being developed as an "Integration Center." We have moved all of the Final Assembly, Sub-Assembly, and Honing activities to this site. In the year 2000, we are moving our Quality Assurance Department, Final Inspection Area, Production Stock Rooms, and the Shipping and Receiving Department to this site. This Integration Center will have all the talents, disciplines and equipment in one building and in one cost center for the following integration activities:
- Mechanical Assembly
- Sub-Assembly
- Kit Management
- Parts Management
In addition to the manufacturing space and inspection facilities mentioned, the center also includes ample areas for program management activities with action centers and meeting rooms adjacent to production and inspection areas.
With this 33% increase to Air Industries' footprint the company has been transformed from a basic machine shop to a modern product integration facility, retaining our core competency in machining and mechanical assembly. |
