In view of the advancements achieved as a result of the "Air Industries Development Program," we believe that customers will benefit from establishing a strategic relationship with Air Industries in any or each of the following areas:
Kitting/Just in Time (JIT) Delivery System:

We believe that we can be a cost-effective kit supplier for customers because of our initiatives to develop a dedicated subcontractor base, a segregated integration facility with an activity-based accounting approach to overhead rate application and strong experience as demonstrated on our Boeing 767 Landing Gear Drag Strut contract.

Our 767 Drag Strut Program with Boeing Commercial Airplane Company involves the JIT delivery of a kit of sub-assemblies that are inducted at the final assembly stage as a matched set. This program includes approximately thirty (30) detail parts in the Bill of Materials and requires both substantial in-house machining, as well as subcontract management skills. The final product is delivered in one ship-set shipment and in one container directly to the final assembly location.

Next Higher Assembly/Sub-Assembly Projects:

Currently Air Industries is producing several assembly/sub-assembly structures for customers. We believe that the following examples of some of our projects provide substantial customer savings both administratively and from an acquisition price standpoint:

E2C Arresting Gear, Northrop Grumman:
This assembly is extremely critical in that it encompasses the entire carrier landing mechanism. It involves the machining of several steel details from forgings welded to a close tolerance Truss Assembly, heat treated in a controlled environment and machined to final configuration. The Truss and Tail Hook sub-assemblies are then mechanically joined to form the final assembly.

S-76 Throttle Quadrant, Sikorsky Aircraft: This project is another recent example of Air Industries program management strengths and customer cooperation. Sikorsky awarded this procurement prior to completion of final design, and depended upon Air Industries to fabricate the prototype assembly. In this process, Air Industries Manufacturing contributed to the final design, with many producible improvements.

The throttle quadrant is a totally operational mechanical device that operates the S-76 engines, as well as the fire containment system. It contains over (220) details in the Bill of Materials and includes electronic integration.

Mixer Assembly, Sikorsky Aircraft:
Air Industries currently assembles this primary flight control device from several hundred details and sub-assemblies. It is a Flight Critical Assembly involving very close tolerance and torque requirements. This program involves substantial subcontract management skills. The offload of this project was managed in an IPT type approach with both Sikorsky and Air Industries personnel involved.

757 Carriage Assembly, Boeing Commercial Airplane:
On this assembly, Air Industries successfully employed advanced assembly techniques which included reducing specification tolerances, particularly on holes and alignments, in order to ensure high quality results and reduced assembly costs. Since the inception of our contract in 1990, we have delivered end items with 100% quality, and consistently support Boeing's delivery requirements. For this project, the majority of details are machined at Air Industries.

These projects are just examples of several integration projects at Air Industries. We continue to make investments to position the company as a "World Class" Integrator. We believe that customers could substantially reduce their final product cost by offloading or sourcing similar assembly/sub-assembly projects to Air Industries.
